Additives to Make Candles Burn Longer
Harder wax burns more slowly. Stearic acid raises the melting point of paraffin so pillars and votives hold their shape and burn longer. Lustre Crystals harden the wax while adding a glossy finish, and Vybar 103 (for pillars and molded candles) or Vybar 260 (for container candles) lets the wax carry more fragrance oil while improving opacity and burn quality. Elvax, Micro 180 wax and Gloss Poly-1702 give further control over hardness, gloss and surface finish, while mottling oil creates the classic snowflake mottled look and Sno-Wax produces a snow-white finish.
