Wax Additives and Chemicals

We carry a broad selection of wax additives and chemicals designed to help improve the quality, burn time and appearance of your candles. These additives can play an important role in the finished product you produce. Need a glossy finish, having problems with bubbles, are your candles not releasing from their molds, looking for a mottled appearance or trying to stop color fading? Lustre Crystals

This wax additive will enhance the beauty and quality of your candles. One level teaspoonful in 2 pounds of wax provides the candle with a brilliant sheen, an opaque appearance, and a longer burning life and is particularly suited for producing glossy white candles.

Clear Crystals

One to two teaspoonfuls per pound of wax will raise the melting point, thus making the wax harder and longer burning without destroying its glow quality. The translucent feature makes it ideal for creating hurricane candles or interior decorated candles where opacity in not desirable. Also produces more vivid color, and help eliminate bubbles on candle surface. One cup per pound of wax as a final dip makes tapers dripless.

Mottling Oil

Used to produce a mottled appearance in wax surface. 1-2% will create snowy surface illusions while 3-5% will create crystalline shapes in wax surface.

Translucent Crystals

Recommended usage is ½-1 teaspoonful per pound of wax. Used to preserve the natural translucency of wax. Will also make candles harder, longer burning and give them a glossy sheen.

Mold Cleaner

A "must" for making beautiful, professional quality candles is to begin with clean molds. This CLEANER is safe for use in all types of molds. Since it is a rinse, the excess can be poured back into the bottle and then reused.

Stearic Acid

Will make candles burn better and slower. It will make the wax harder and help to prevent candles from losing their shape in warmer weather. Also makes wax opaque.

Silicone Spray

Professional quality silicone spray parting agent, which when applied to mold after each 8-9 pourings, assures, assure a proper mold release, thereby reducing the risk of blemishes on the candle surface.

Vybar 103

This wax additive will help to eliminate bubbles, mottling and acts as an oil binder. Will enhance scent and produce pastel shades of color in wax. Highly recommended for molded candles.

Vybar 260

Same uses as Vybar 103, but generally used in container candles. Has a lower melting point. (130°F). Used in making "One Pour" Container Wax.

Beeswax Pastilles

100% pure natural Beeswax. Added to paraffin wax and blends to improve burning quality and increase melting point and burning time of wax. Can be used straight to make natural scented beeswax candles. Can also be used in soaps, lotions and cosmetic formulas. Available in 1 pound and 5 pound amounts.

Color Fading Inhibitor

A small amount of this wax additive goes a long way in preserving the quality of color in wax. Contains a UV absorber. One teaspoonful in 2 pounds of wax prevents color fading.
